Sound familiar?

  • Your ideas don’t match what ends up on paper.

  • You don’t know where to start.

  • You spend hours finding the perfect reference instead of actually drawing.

  • You can draw from observations but from imagination it falls apart.

How I finally learned to draw from imagination

Ever since I could hold a pen, I wanted to draw from imagination. It felt impossible.

So I did what everyone recommends: study anatomy, perspective, proportions and what not.

And I improved. But when I tried to draw from imagination?

I froze.

Because drawing from imagination isn’t about mastering one fundamental. It’s about combining them, at the same time.

That’s what we train here.

So you can stop studying parts, and start constructing scenes from imagination.

"It's all about building confidence before adding complexity."

So how do you learn to draw from imagination?

By controlling complexity. If you can't control a figure in 2D, you won't control it in 3D

Most art courses teach one fundamental at a time:
anatomy, perspective, gesture, storytelling.

But drawing from imagination isn’t about applying one skill.

It’s about combining them, without getting overwhelmed.

And that only works if you build complexity gradually.

If you can’t control a figure in 2D,
you won’t control it in 3D.

If you can’t design a single clear pose,
you won’t design a clear scene.

So instead of choosing between
“technical drawing” or “visual storytelling”, we train both.

Step by step.

We start simple:
2D figures focused on gesture and clarity.

Then we move into space:
2D → 2.5D → 3D.

And at the same time, we move from single figures to full scenes.

No sudden jumps.
No overwhelm.
Just structured progression.

That's how imagination stops feeling like guesswork.

Why a membership?

Stay as long as your goal requires. Leave when you're done.

Faster progress, less confusion

You don’t need hours a day.
Most lessons are designed to fit into
40–50 minutes of focused practice.

No overwhelm. No endless theory.
Just deliberate exercises that compound.

Confidence comes from clarity

You’re never asking: what should I practice?
am I doing this right? why does this feel so hard?

The system answers those questions
before they become frustrating.

That’s why people stick with it.

Testimonials

Blondie - Aspiring Artist

Before this course, I had no clear process for designing poses from imagination. Now I can actually invent poses instead of copying them, without needing anatomy knowledge.

Marjolein van der Heide - Aspiring Artist

The lessons are simplified and the next lessons builds onto the previous ones. This helped me digest the information, process and then put it into action

Jeroen Elsing - Relationship Coach

Even in as little as 5 days, I've made huge progress in my gesture drawing. Can't wait to see my progress as I get even deeper into the course.

How the membership
is structured

The DFIA Membership is built as a progressive system, not a fixed curriculum.
You don’t unlock everything at once.
You grow through clear stages, at your own pace.

You can start at the beginning, or jump to the stage that matches your current skill level.
The structure guides you, it doesn’t lock you in.

Phase 1 - 2D Figures & Stories

Master dynamic, expressive poses through gesture. Then turn those figures into characters and place them inside visual stories.

Phase 2 - 2.5D Figures & Worlds

Introduce depth and volume using ribbon figures and simple structures. Then use that foundation to build scenes that feel solid and alive.

Phase 3 - 3D Construction & Perspective

Full constructive drawing, forms, perspective, and figure architecture, applied to complete scenes from imagination.

Phase 4 - 3D+ The Mannequin (coming soon)

Everything in the previous phases exists to make this possible. This is where you build and pose a full constructive figure from your imagination.

The Confidence-From-Imagination Guarantee (90 days)

If after 90 days you don't feel noticeably more confident drawing from imagination, I'll refund your last 3 months.

That means:

✔ At least 20 lessons completed

✔ 15 exercises done & shared in the community.

✔ 1 full phase finished (15 lessons)

Send me an email. I’ll take care of it.
